Natural hazards

Natural hazard mitigation constitutes one of the most challenging tasks of hydraulic engineering in the XXIst century. Climate changes accerelate the appearance of more and more extreme events, such as flood events, debris flows, landslides, avalanches, etc.

AquaVision Engineering Inc. actively works in this field by developing flood inundation and/or danger maps for Swiss villages and cantons. The establishment of these maps is based on sound and detailed 2D numerical modelling of the involved physical phenomena.

Second, sound hydrological modelling constitutes a basic premise for natural hazard estimates. We offer specific services in the field of hydrology, ranging from straightforward statistical analysis and rainfall-runoff relationships up to complex physically based modelling of large catchment areas.

Exciting projects actually being perofrmed and managed by AquaVision Engineering Inc. are the debris flow mitigation measures being developed along the Tinière River at Villeneuve, or also the flood danger maps of the whole city of Geneva.

Feel free to consult our [References] in this field.
